The 430,556 square foot embassy compound in Kyiv, Ukraine has been registered with the Green Building Certification Institute and is pending LEED certification. The compound is comprised of a new office building, a recreational facility, Marine security guard quarters, and vehicular and pedestrian access control facilities.
Mason & Hanger's design team conducted an energy analysis of the new office building to ensure the facility meets the goal of reducing overall energy use by 20 percent. After comparing the energy implications of proposed energy saving measures, a design was created that decreases energy consumption by an additional 15 percent.
