New Embassy Compound, Rabat

U.S. Department of State

Rabat, Morocco

Situated on a minimally developed eight-acre site, this multi-building compound includes a 215,000 SF, three-story chancery building, two underground parking garages, a Marine security guard residence, and utility/support annex functions. With the climate in mind, we incorporated numerous sustainable design features. These include lights that automatically dim to take advantage of daylight, reduced water use plumbing fixtures, rain gardens, and indigenous and adapted plant species for reduced irrigation demand. The project achieved LEED Gold Certification through the U.S. Green Building Certification Institute.
