Mason & Hanger Attends NASA’s Wind Tunnel Ribbon Cutting

On August 17th Mason & Hanger, a partner on the NASA Flight Dynamics Research Facility (FDRF) Design, proudly attended the team’s official new wind tunnel ribbon cutting ceremony in Hampton, Virginia.

Mason & Hanger, a Day & Zimmermann Company, is a contributing partner on the design-build contract of NASA’s new Flight Dynamics Research Facility (FDRF) at the Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. Mason & Hanger will be working in partnership with BL Harbert International (BLHI) and Calspan Aero Systems Engineering, Inc.

“We are proud to be a part of this historic project, and join in celebrating the kick-off of the first major wind tunnel in more than 40 years, contributing to our nation’s safe space exploration, supporting the design of this mission-critical aeronautical research and testing facility,” states Ben Lilly, President, Mason & Hanger.

The new wind tunnel, called the Flight Dynamics Research Facility (FDRF), will provide researchers with a highly versatile and cost-effective vertical wind tunnel for conducting research and technology development that supports diverse NASA missions, including aeronautics research, space exploration, and science.
