The 96,875 SF U.S. consulate compound in Dubai represents a significant commitment by the United States to a long-term presence in Dubai, allowing the Consulate General to increase the efficiency and accessibility of its services to the public.
Design partners Mason & Hanger and Page utilized a comprehensive lighting design approach to minimize power consumption throughout the compound. This facility was designed to reduce energy costs by 22 percent through the installation of a white roof, light-colored façade, and sun shades to reduce solar heat gain. Additional efficiency is gained from solar hot water, daylight harvesting, and variable frequency drives. The project received LEED Gold certification by the Green Building Certification Institute.
