SHoP Architects and Mason & Hanger Awarded Design Contract Supporting U.S. Department of State Annex in Thailand

New York-based SHoP Architects in New York City, teamed with Mason & Hanger for the design of the U.S. Department of State New Office Annex (NOX) in Bangkok, Thailand. The design will establish a modern LEED Silver certified office tower, as well as additional consular accommodations, and added utility and security elements.

Mason & Hanger’s design team will support the development of Bridging Documents in the following disciplines: Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Telecommunications, Life Safety, Fire Protection, and Technical Security. Mason & Hanger is the Sustainability/LEED Coordinator for the overall project preparing the High Performance Building Report, Life Cycle Cost Analysis, and LEED Scorecard for the overall project. The new construction is located on an existing, active 11 acre site across the street from the Embassy Chancery and is phased to allow construction of the new 14 story New Office Annex while maintaining the existing operations throughout construction.
