Senior Architect
"As a Senior Architect, I am responsible for the building design to be in accordance with today's applicable codes and regulations, and communicating with other engineering discipline team members to coordinate project details."
I attended the University of Kentucky and obtained both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Architecture. Upon graduation, I applied to Mason & Hanger for an open position as an Architectural Intern in 2007. I worked with a registered Architect until I obtained a professional architectural license in 2013. At this time, I earned a promotion to Architect and since then I have worked my way through to my current position as Senior Architect.
As a Senior Architect, I am responsible for the building design to be in accordance with today's applicable codes and regulations, and communicating with other engineering discipline team members to coordinate project details. I mentor Design Associates through the architectural design process and their Architectural Experience Program (AXP) as they work toward achieving licensure.
My coworkers and our projects! I enjoy working alongside my co-workers and having multiple engineering/architectural disciplines in-house. The experience of working together as one team is really nice. I enjoy the unique and complex projects we design in various geographic regions and the relationships I've developed with Clients during the process.
Technology has changed significantly, from hand drafting in college, to computer aided design (CAD), 3D modeling, and now building information modeling (BIM). Code requirements and regulations are continuously updated. Staying on top of design innovation and building materials is important to provide Clients an optimal design.
Building a More Secure World while designing military facilities for the US Government to protect and train our Soldiers. To me, it doesn't get any better than that!
