Director, Mechanical Engineering
"The group of people I work with daily are outstanding and truly operate as a team. I also enjoy the uniqueness of the projects that we do all over the country and world."
I have been with Mason & Hanger for 18 years. I was hired as a mechanical engineer. I enjoyed supporting other engineers and project managers, so I became a resource quickly. After about five years, I became Department Manager. It's been exciting with the acquisition of Hankins & Anderson to go from a department of nine people to a department of 43 people.
As the Director of the Mechanical Department a lot of my time is spent leading the mechanical team by managing resources and ensuring our high quality and standards are being met on all our projects. I ensure our staff has adequate resources and training available to them so that they may do their jobs. I ensure work is progressing and projects are meeting deadlines, and I work with Project Managers and Management continually. I also enjoy supporting projects as needed doing some of the engineering.
The people and our projects. The group of people I work with daily are outstanding and truly operate as a team. I also enjoy the uniqueness of the projects that we do all over the country and world.
You never know what you are going to be challenged with on a day-to-day basis, but you are guaranteed the opportunity to make a difference at Mason & Hanger in building a more secure world.
One of the things I love about this industry is that it is constantly changing. Code requirements are always being revised. We need to stay up to date with the latest industry innovations available to us in order to provide an optimal design to our clients.
We build a more secure world. We specialize in designing secure, mission-driven facilities proudly serving as a partner to the United States Government for nearly two centuries. We are helping to train and protect the soldier. I love that I am a part of that.
